HELEN BIVINGS CRAWFORD Born in Atlanta, GA, on November 21, 1910 at 170 Westminster Drive in what is now Ansley Park. She was a life-long Atlanta resident. Daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Troy Bivings whose family included five generations of doctors, including her brother, Dr. William Troy Bivings, II, now deceased. Dr. Bivings, Sr., was the first Atlanta doctor to use an automobile to make his house calls. Died at her home on West Paces Ferry Road in Buckhead. She attended Spring Street elementary school, Naps High School and Washington Seminary; junior college in Tarrytown, NY and Oglethorpe University. A community leader, she served on many boards and was active in civic affairs throughout her lifetime. At her death, she served on the Board of the National English-Speaking Union, and as the Chairman of both the Atlanta and National Patrons Committee. Married to Augustus Shaw Loyless and Dr. Clyde Crawford, she was twice divorced.
