Anna E. Conklin (on left in photo) was the daughter of Seth Conklin and Elizabeth Pulver of Savannah, Wayne County, NY. Before 1900, Anna and her family relocated to New York City where for a time, she worked as a sales clerk in a grocery store. On 23 March 1918, Anna joined the New York City Police Department, Bureau of Policewomen. She retired on 30 April 1937.
On July 30, 1942, Anna married Howard Wyckoff Gifford, a widower, and fellow NYPD retiree at Savannah, where they made their home.
Anna Conklin Gifford died in Savannah at the age of 80 years 10 mos and 21 days on 23 August 1962.
