She was born in Fairbury to Francis G. and Lucille Ellen (Smith) Pretzlaff.
She married John W. Welch on Nov. 21, 1958. He died Sept. 2, 2000.
She is survived by sons, Carl Welch, Sibley and Tilden Welch, Rankin; four daughters, Susan Welch, West End, N.C., Brenda Welch, Sibley, Teresa (Arvind) Bawa, Greenbrook, N.J. and Julie (Bruce) Renfro, Westchester, Ohio; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two sisters, Jean Widman, Ransom and Vera Peterson, Pontiac.
