Don was born to Maney and Irene Bennett in Macomb, Mo. He was a proud union member of The International Association of Heat and Frost and Asbestos Workers, Local No. 27, and attended church at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Greenfield, Mo.

Don married Margie Bennett on Sept. 4, 1971. From this marriage came three children, Donnie, of Jordan, Heather, of Joplin, Mo., and Summer, of Joplin. Additional survivors include his father, Maney Bennett; five siblings, Wilma Gray, Bobby Bennett, Pat Blackwell, Ronnie Bennett and Randy Bennett; numerous nieces and nephews; and two grandchildren, Landon Cole and Ashley Hicks, who always made him smile.

Don was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Bennett, in 2005.

Services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, in Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Greenfield with Pastor Ron Dykes officiating.

Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
