Eugene William Blaske, 88, of Owensville, Mo. passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Frene Valley Healthcare in Owensville.

Eugene was born in Owensville on April 30, 1927, to the late Frank and Annie (Buchholz) Blaske. On September 14, 1950, at Immaculate Conception Church in Owensville he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Plassmeyer. He served his country with the United States Navy. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus; the Moose Lodge; VFW Post #6133; and a charter member of the Owensville Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Orville Blaske and Virgil Blaske; and sister, Adline Buddemeyer.

His survivors include his wife, Mary Ann; their children, Suzanne Farris and husband, James of Jefferson City, Paula Belloir and husband, Roger of Roseburg, Ore., Jeff Blaske and wife, Brenda of Defiance and Randy Blaske of Owensville; six grandchildren, Laura Schuffman, Daniel Farris, Joseph Belloir, Sarah Belloir, Ashley Blaske and Brittany Blaske; and by four great-grandchildren, Rhys and Isla Schuffman and Avery and Henry Farris.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 6 from 4-8 p.m. at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, July 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville with Fr. Gregory Tigga and Fr. James Finder officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with full military honors. Courtesy of Gottenstroetter's Funeral Home
