James Stanley Fulton Sr., 66, 312 Skyline Court, died Monday, May 13, 2002 at Hays Medical Center. He was born July 8, 1985 in Deerfield to Fred P. and Ester O. (Meadows) Fulton. He attended schools in Deerfield.

He married Bonnie Kuhn on Aug. 6, 1994, in Dodge City.

He and his wife were a driving team for Convoy Systems Inc. trucking firm. Prior to working for Convoy, they were employed by Jack B. Kelley Inc. and prior to that he was a officer for the Kansas Highway Patrol. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, of the home: two sons, Michael Kevin, Campbell, Texas, and James Stanley Jr., Deerfield; a stepson, Tim Leighton, Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Sheryl Kay Suiter, Concordia; three stepdaughters. Tammy Kay Leighton, Norman, Okla., and Tammy Lindeman, Kearney, Neb., and Tonya A. Moddelmog, Wichita; two sisters, Agnes Faith Landon, Deerfield; and Mary Lois Smith, Liberal; seven grandchildren; and three step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Fulton, and a sister. Ester Sutton.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, with the Rev. William Miller officiating; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the organization of the donor's choice.
