Chester Boyd Applegate, 73, of Mannford died on June 2, 1993 at Tulsa Regional Medical Center in Tulsa. He was born on April 17, 1920 in Berryville, Arkansas to Ray Elsworth and Beulah Alta (Smith) Applegate. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a retired machinist. He married Vera Lee Hammock on January 13, 1947 in Sapulpa. He is survived by his wife; his daughters, Joy Lynn Rashendorfer and Rhonda Carol Hyde, both of Mannford; his sisters, Faye Osborn and Wanda Maxine Colberg, both of Mannford, and Myrtle Ellen Guilfoil of Eskridge, Kansas; his half sister, Vella Claudine West; his brothers, Joe Clifford Applegate of Sand Springs, Kenneth Glen Applegate of Sapulpa, Lester Clell Applegate of Mannford, and Lonnie Dale "Skeet" Applegate of Saudi Arabia; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services were held Monday at First Baptist Church with Rev. James Beck officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service.
