Banksie married the love of her life, James O. (Jim) Bryan on October 16, 1942 in Houston, Texas. Jim was working in the Houston shipyards until he was drafted into WWII.
After WWII, Banksie and Jim returned to Houston to raise their family. Banksie was a "stay at home" mom for her two daughters. In 1964, Jim began working overseas and for 20 years, Banksie and Jim traveled around the world. They had homes in South America, Saudi Arabia, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Indonesia.
Banksie was a member of the Huntsville First United Methodist Church. She was an active member of the Upper Room Sunday School Class.
In 2013, due to ill health, Banksie moved to Livingston to live with her daughter, Marilyn.
Banksie was a member of the Eastern Star in Stockdale, Texas and a charter member of the John Floyd Gilbert Chapter of DRT in Livingston.
Banksie was preceded in death by her husband of almost seventy years, Jim Bryan; her parents, Banks and Nola Eastland; her sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Lester Akin; and brother-in-law, Robert Pinckney.
A Celebration of Life was conducted at the First United Methodist Church in Huntsville on June 30, 2015.
She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, a sister, and many nieces and nephews.
