Mary Ann Horenberger, 87, of 1920 Garling Drive, Bloomington, died at 7:07 p.m. Monday (March 8, 2004) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.



Mrs. Horenberger was born Nov. 21, 1916, at Bloomington, the daughter of James and Ann Schewe Costello. She married Jack Horenberger on May 31, 1941, at Bloomington. He died Dec. 1, 2000.


Survivors include two daughters, Jane Ann Ehretsman, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and Jill Horenberger, Mays Landing, N.J.; five grandchildren, Jack and Steven Ehretsman; and Rosa, Roxana and Mara Lee Horenberger; one great-granddaughter, Mariely Horenberger; one sister-in-law; two nephews; and six nieces.


One brother, James J. Costello, preceded her in death.


Mary Ann was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society of the church. She was also a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Association. She was a 20-year volunteer for the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary and a former volunteer of Girl Scouts, the Red Cross and the Bloomington Public Library.


Mary Ann was a graduate of Trinity High School and Illinois Wesleyan University. She enjoyed reading and needlepoint, after her family.
