Lillie Kate (Hilton) Lay
WEBER CITY, Va. - Lillie Kate Lay, 89, 1l7A Lay Street, died Thursday (Sept. 28, 1989) at Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center.
A native of Scott County, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Weber City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake D. Lay; her parents, William H. and Amanda Fuller Hilton.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. W.M. (Vinada) Brickey, Weber City, Mrs. Eugene (Joan) Snapp, Kingsport; six sons, William "Bill" Lay, Newnan, Ga., Ernest Lay, Shell Beach, Calif., James C. "Jim" Lay and J.D. "Buck" Lay Jr., both of Kingsport, Roy Lay, Gulf Breeze, Fla., John Lay, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City.
Services will be at conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Weber City with the Rev. Dean Smith and the Rev. Paul Blessing officiating.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will be in Holston View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Weber City, P.O. Box 2155, Weber City, Va. 24251.
