James died on-board the 'Marry and John,' Robert Sayres, Master, which left Southampton/London 24/26 March 1634, arrived New England 14 May 1634. He was traveling with with a Nicholas Easton and his son, James Barker. The Barkers are not listed in the official Manifest.

His sister, Cristian(a) Barker Cooper Beecher (b. 1601 England d. 20 Feb 1666 Newport RI), emigrated on-board the Talbot (of The Winthrop Fleet) with her 3rd husband, Capt. Thomas Beecher of Stepney, Middlesex (1605-1636). Eleven ships sailing from Yarmouth, Isle of Wright to Salem. The ships Talbot, Ambrose, Arbella and Hopewell all sailed April 8, arriving June 13, 1630.

Cristian later Married Nicholas Easton (1593-15 Aug 1675) from Lymington, Hampshire.

Young James Barker supposedly moved in with his Aunt's family in Newport, Rhode Island and Charlestown, Massachusetts, soon after arriving in New England.
