Daughter of William "Lewis" Dillon II and Lucy Greer.

She was born in Franklin, Virginia where she also met and married her husband, Silas Martin on 25 Feb 1869 at the age of 20 years.

The set up their home in Gills Creek, Franklin, Virginia in 1870 where they had their first child, a daughter, Lucy Mary Martin.

In 1877, they were in Bridgeport, Warren, Missouri, USA. More children arrived in 1877, 1880, 1883, 1884 and 1886. All but the last three children (daughters died in their first year of life).

They resided in Linn, Audrain, Missouri until moving to Pasadena, Los Angeles, California in 1910 where they lived until their deaths.
