Born in 1918 to Edward and Helen Cicon of Flint Hill, Center Valley, Stephen worked on his parents farm, now Flint Hill Farm Education Center, until he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He fought in WWII with the First Division - the Big Red One, earning a Purple Heart and a Bronze star.
Upon returning from the war, Stephen worked for Bethlehem Steel for 38 years in the rolling mills. He was also well known in the Coopersburg area for his general repair work and house painting. He was a talented carpenter and was very proud to have built his home in 1949 on Locust Valley Road.
He was a very active member of St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church in Limeport his whole life. Stephen was also very active in the Coopersburg VFW - marching in parades, placing flags in cemeteries and working the food stand. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and Europe with his wife and was an avid golfer. Stephen was very proud of the hole in one he made at Wedgewood Country Club.
Survivors: Stephen is survived by; his sons, Stephen W. Cicon,Jr. and David E. Cicon, both of Coopersburg; daughters, Rosanne K. Wartella, of Fogelsville, Cecile E. Tyson, of Clermont, FL, and Dolores C. Zabower, of Coopersburg; one sister, Helen Wiersch, nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and six nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Andrew, William and Charles, and sister, Mary, grandson, Lee, granddaughter, Robin and great-granddaughter, Karlyn.
Services: Family and friends are invited to call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, November 6, 2010 followed by a service at 10 a.m. at Norcross-Weber Funeral Home, 101-B N. Main Street, Coopersburg, PA.
