Susan graduated from Janesville Parker High School and from Blackhawk Technical College. She worked for several years at local bridal shops and then for Fairbanks-Morse Industries. She married her husband on October 8, 1983. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son; her daughter; her parents; sister; brother; and her maternal grandmother. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and her maternal grandfather. Susan was murdered by her husband in a case of domestic violence.
