The Death Angel has once again visited our community and claimed for its victim one of or best Christians. Sister Mayfield departed this life June 29, 1917 for her home above. She was 46 years old and joined the Liberty Baptist church back in her young days spending over half her life in the service of the Lord.
She leaves three children, Mrs. Rufus Hardwick, Mrs. Clarence Gholson and Omar Mayfield, all of whom were present when she died. She also left a mother, father, brother and sisters.
