Alberta E. "Birdie" Antes, age 89, formerly of Williamstown, died Saturday, August 9, 2003, at Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church; Lutheran Church Women; former choir member; participated in many church activities; was a social member of American Legion Post No. 239; and a former cub scout den mother.
Born in Williamstown, February 8, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Calvin S. and Rose Eva Freeze Myers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira "Pete" Jacob Antes.
Surviving are two sons, Charles C. Antes of Lykens and Ira R. Antes of Elizabethville; a brother, Arthur Myers of Glen Burnie, MD; two sisters, Florence Bolton of Dundalk, MD and Geraldine Maurer of Elizabethville; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, at the John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, with the Rev. Marleen Griffith-Stull officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Tower City. Viewing will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
