Donald was born Oct. 11, 1950, in Dalton, a son of the late Quentin Marion Babb and Darthy Ford Babb. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Marion and a sister, Constance Nora Babb.
Donald was a graduate of Valley Point High School and the University of Georgia with a degree in entomology. He was a world traveler, outdoorsman, survivalist, hunter, fisherman and organic farmer with a special zest for life. Even after his illness took a turn for the worse and he needed help walking, he got on his tractor and plowed a field to plant sunflowers. He never met a stranger and was never at a loss for conversation. He could talk for hours telling of his travels and experiences in life. Donald fought a hard battle with pancreatic cancer never giving up and wanting to get well enough to go camping and take his family to Florida one last time planning his trip from his hospital bed. Donald was a one-of-a-kind individual that touched the lives of many.
Private interment services will be at his farm with Rudy Ownbey, Roger Babb, Steve Babb, Boyd Whitfield, Joe Mosteller and Shahn Babb serving as pallbearers.
