Jesse Leon "Lee" Morris Lively, at the age of 79, went to be with the Lord during the early morning hours of May 29, 2015. Lee was a Korean War Navy Veteran. He continued his service through the American Legion Post 84, where he was past commander. Lee was also an active member of various local community committees, such as the Veterans Day parade and Boys State. Lee retired from IBM after 36 years and moved to Auburn in 2000 to be closer to his daughter and granddaughter. He loved backpacking, sailing and the outdoors.
Lee was survived by his daughter and her husband, granddaughter and great granddaughter.
His family, as well as his friends, will miss his warm smile, genuine faith, sincere love, generosity, humanity, and love of life, but Lee did not take all these things with him. His light and presence continues to shine upon, and keep warm, all those privileged enough to have known, loved, and to have been loved by him.
The military memorial service will be held at the National Cemetery in Dixon, Calif. on June 29, 2015, at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Lee, donations can be made to the American Legion Post 84 in Auburn, Calif.
