Rev. Russell O. “Rusty” Bailey, age 52, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015. The Glynn County native had lived in Long County most of his life. He was employed with Southeastern Fuel Transport (Sommer Oil Company). Rusty was an ordained minister that was called on often to fill in at several churches. He loved hunting, fishing and working in his garden. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of River Ridge Sportsmen Club and Pigot Branch Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tim Bailey and JoAnne Bailey Marshall; infant sister, Cindy Bailey; and a brother, Johnny Bailey.

Rev. Bailey is survived by his wife of 32years, Sherry O’Berry Bailey of Glennville; children, Sharmon (Bubba) Howard of Ludowici, and Ken (Trishia) Moon of Donald Community; brothers, Jimmy (Debbie) Bailey of Glynn County and Randy Bailey of Brunswick; special aunt, Carole (Robert) Kennedy of Midway; seven grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins also survive.

The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Saturday from the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Sunday, June 28, 2015 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation Services and Burial with the Reverend Tommy Ray officiating. Interment will follow in the Poplar Head Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Billy O’Berry, Mike O’Berry, Randy Groover, Tony Wallace, Christopher Bailey, and Kenny Moon.

Honorary Pallbearers will be staff of Southeastern Fuel Transport and members of the River Ridge Sportsmen Club.
