Verna Lou Brown Haught, age 79, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Verna was born February 11, 1936 in Meade County, KY to the late Frank Lee and Florence B. Allen Brown.

Verna was a lifelong member of St. John the Apostle Church and a graduate of Meade County High School. She loved her farm, gardening, her horses, spending time with her grandchildren and attending the Meade County Fair.

She is survived by her husband of 56 ½ years, Fred D. Haught of Brandenburg; children, Kenneth (Becky) Haught, Vaneda (Tom) Gorter and Rachel (Jerry) Hopkins all of Brandenburg; grandchildren, J.C. Haught, Amanda West, Bridget (Travis) Price, Chris West, Cody Haught and Ethan Hopkins; great-grandchildren, Elisia Burnett, Trevor Price and Titus Price.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 1 P.M. EDT from St. John the Apostle Church in Brandenburg, KY. Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery.
