Norma Jeanne Bagley was born in Fouke, Arkansas to William and Bessie Adams on February 17, 1927.
She passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, following a valiant two year struggle after suffering two strokes a year apart. During those two years she never lost her sense of humor, smile or her sweet spirit while enduring pain along with many other physical struggles.
Norma touched many lives with her loving spirit, generosity and love for people. She supported many ministries including assisting many young people going into the ministry. Her passion was to further the gospel of Jesus Christ and her greatest desire was to hear her Lord say, "Well done my good and faithful servant."
Norma lived in Oklahoma City for the past 65 years where she owned the Lillian Strickler Lighting store for more than 50 years. After she sold the store, but didn't retire, but continued to work there as the bookkeeper until two years ago at the age of 86. She has been a faithful and active member of the Cherokee Hills Baptist Church for many years.
Norma is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bagley, two brothers, Marvin Adams and Lowell Adams, two sisters, Cora Moses and Estelle Elam.
She is survived by her devoted and loving nieces and nephews, Carole Adams Heckard and David Heckard, William and Beth Adams, Suzy Adams-Bartcher and Wayne Bartcher, Cherree Adams, Lana and Terry Raney, Nanette and Derrell King, Jeanne Russell, Walter and Dana Adams, Alece and Tony Downs, Cramer and Ann Elam, Mark Albert and a multitude of great and great -great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special extended family Kelly and Beth Green, Jonathan and Taylor Green, Jeff Flournoy, Charmagne Bagley and Alex Bagley-Johnson and many, many friends.
A special thank you to Carolisa Heckard who cared for her in her home and to The Lakes Care Center and all the care givers who cared for her with love and kindness during the past nine months.
Norma's bright smile, generous loving spirit will be missed by her family and friends and all who knew her.
Visitation is Sunday, June 28 from 4-8 p.m., with the family present from 6-8 p.m. "Celebration of Life" service will be Monday, June 29, at 10 a.m. Visitation and service will be held at Vondel Smith Mortuary, 13125 N. McArthur, Oklahoma City. Graveside to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Oklahoma City.
