Clifford Murphy
March 4, 1934 - June 11, 2015 Clifford “Birddog” G. Murphy, age 81, of Lorain, Ohio passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015 at University Hospital in Cleveland.

He was born on March 4, 1934 in Ragland, West Virginia to Ruben and Hazel (nee Howell) Murphy and graduated from Burch High School in 1955.

He retired from Ford Motor Company as a skilled tradesman in 1996 after 37 years of service.

Clifford loved boxing, and in 1955 boxed the famous Cassius Clay (Muhammed Ali), at Madison Square Garden. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, playing the lottery, watching football, baseball and old western movies. He also loved children.

He is survived by his daughter, Bridget Murphy; son, Clifford G. Murphy Jr.; brother, Ruben Murphy Jr.; sister, Dolores June Evans; and his former wife, Bessie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Hazel Murphy; brothers, Charles and Teddy Joe Murphy; and his sister, Dean Evans.

Visitation is from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, June 15, 2015, at Weaver Mortuary in West Williamson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, at the mortuary.

Interment is in the Cisco Family Cemetery at Delbarton, WV. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
