JOHNNIE STANLEY, 84, of Hamburg died Monday, May 26, 1997, at the Ashley
Memorial Hospital in Crossett. He was a native of Hamburg, born to the
late Rufus and Tennie Johnson Stanley. He was a retired fork lift operator
for P.E. Barnes Lumber Mill and a member of First Baptist Church. He was a
U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II, and a member of the
VFW Post 9360 in Hamburg. He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Glen
Stanley, and one grandson, Jacob Marcus Stanley. Survivors include his wife,
Martha Downey Stanley of Hamburg; one son, John Stanley Sr., of Monticello;
four daughters, Virginia Bolin of Morrilton, Betty Sled of Crossett, Nancy
Rankin of Hamburg and Debbie Key of Camden; 13 grandchildren and five great
grandchildren.Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29 at 2 p.m. at
First Bapatist Church by Dr. Bobby Pennington, and the Revs. Klois Hargis
and Rick Pyron. Burial will be in the Pinewood Memorial Park arranged by
Jones Funeral Homeof Hamburg.Pallbearers will be the grandsons, Jim, Stan
and Josh Rankin, Jim Sled, JohnA. Stanley, Jr., Matt Key and Jerry Lee
Stanley. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Veterans of Foreign
Wars Post#9360. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church,
P.O. Box 352, Hamburg, AR71646.
