Jerry Frank Atkinson was born on September 24, 1933 to Thurman & Thelma Atkinson. He married Ruth Lenora Scott on March 29, 1953. Jerry was a retired truck driver having worked for Merchants Fast Motor Lines. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking trips to casinos.

Jerry passed away the morning of Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at his home in Ledbetter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman & Thelma Atkinson; his wife of 49 years, Ruth Atkinson and two brothers, Bobby Atkinson and Jimmy Atkinson.

Jerry is survived by his four children, Theresa Lloyd & her husband, Kim of Giddings, George Atkinson & his wife Dianne of Ledbetter, James Atkinson & his wife, Debbie of Magnolia and Regina Taylor & her husband, Kenneth of Spring; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a brother, George Atkinson of Houston.

Visitation will be held at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present. Jerry will be buried in Giddings Memorial Park following a private family graveside service.

Memorials may be made to Texas Parks & Wildlife or to the charity of one's choice.
