Death of Another Old Settler.

All of the old settlers of this county will regret to hear of the death of Mr. Hardin Jones, who died at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. Joseph Moss, in Loveland, on Sunday last. Mr. Jones suffered a paralytic stroke two years ago, from which he never recovered. He had reached the ripe age of 77 years, having been born in Casey county, Ky., in 1810. He came to Iowa in 1854, settling in this county, where he he has ever since resided. He was a man of strong character and very positive in his convictions, and when once his mind was made up it was not easily changed. He was a good citizen of Pottawattamie for a third of a century, a strong democrat all his life, and a steady member of the Baptist church for fifty years. The funeral took place at Loveland, and he was buried there.
