She was the daughter of Archie and Leola (Deitsch) Bollenbacher. On Jan 6, 1951, she married Earl T. Ahrens, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, David (Barb), Celina; three daughters: Carol (Ken) Gray, Diane (Don) Norris and Denise (Randy) Laux, all Celina; and eleven grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
A 1950 graduate of Celina Senior High School, she worked for 25 years at West School, Celina, as a cafeteria aide and as a secretary at Mercer County Farm Bureau. She was a member St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Rockford, where she served as the church organist for 64 years. She was a devoted wife, and loved spending time with her family.
Services will be at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Rockford, with the Rev. Catherine Costello officiating. Burial will follow at the UCC cemetery next to the church.
