Pittsville — Loraine P. Rucker, 69, Pittsville, route 1, died at his home at 7:30 o'clock last night of a complication of ailments. He had been in ill health since April. The body will lie in state at the Co-op Funeral Home here beginning Sunday afternoon.
Funeral services will be held in the Congregational Church at Pittsville starting at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon. The Rev. Axel Segergren will officiate and burial will be made in the family lot in Mound cemetery.
The Rev. Mr. Segergren, a retired minister now living at Veedum, officiated at the wedding of Mr. Rucker and Senia Daisy Bryant. The couple came to Pittsville after their marriage in 1915.
Mr. Rucker was born on June 2, 1878. near Centerville, Iowa, and came to Pittsville in 1915, residing on a farm near Cary Bluff continuously for the past 32 years.
He is survived by his widow, two sons, Fay at home; Glenn of Pittsville, route 1; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Erma) Minor, Pittsville, route 1; Mrs. George (Verda) Pflanzer, Ashland; two brothers, William Rucker, Byron, Okla., Clarence Rucker, Centerville, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Velma Megrew, Des Moines, Iowa; and 14 grandchildren. Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
