Hubert Thomas Wilkins was born 26 July in Cleveland County, Oklahoma to John William Wilkins 1856-1924 and Martha Emma "Mattie" Starnes 1858-1905.

He married Bertha Wilkins (b. 1893) around 1912 and they had three children: Lois M. 1914; Marvin H. 1917; and H. T. Wilkins Jr 1923.

He died on Christmas Eve 1955 and was buried in Resthaven Memorial Park, Lubbock, Lubbock, Texas.
