Yes, but that is the same death cert where the informant (his son) entered the maiden name of his mother as unknown, so evidence he was struggling somewhat on the detail.

More authoritative source records are those more coterminous with his birth, and here his parents (who should know) declared his Kentucky birth in the 1900 census, and he himself declared Kentucky birth on his WWII registration card, and his 1940 & 1950 census returns (albeit he had Illinois for 1920 & 1930 returns).

He and his siblings were all born in Ky prior to the 1890 migration to Illinois.
