Edith Mae Hill, age 75, went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 3,2003. Edith was born June 15,1927 in Winchester, Idaho to Hayes and Gertrude (Debnam) Coleman.

She grew up in Orofino, Idaho and graduated from Orofino High School.

She married Roy D. Hill on March 31,1946 in Orofino and they made their home in Pomeroy, Washington.

Edith started working as the Deputy Garfield County Assessor in 1961. She was elected as the County Assessor and retained that office until her retirement in 1987.

Edith was very active in her community. She worked on fund raising committees to raise funds for the purchase of the first ambulance for the County and new band uniforms for the High School Band.

She loved music, always playing the piano or her Hammond electric organ. She sang in the Pomeroy Christian Church choir for over 40 years. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also loved sewing and sewed many of the clothes she wore.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Roy D. Hill, now living in Coeur d' Alene, ID; daughters, Mary Linda Tubby of Portland, OR and Trudy Elliot and her husband, Art, of Coeur d' Alene, ID; a son, Steve Hill and his wife, Millie, of Spokane, WA; 7 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. March 29,2003 at the First Christian Church in Pomeroy, WA. The family prefers memorials to the First Christian Church, 310 8th St., Pomeroy, WA 99347.
