He was a member of the Eight Avenue Baptist Church, Social Masonic Lodge No. 86 and Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 43.
Surviving are the widow, Mary; two daughters, Mrs. Marian Hanners Hasse, Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. Muriel Hanners Tucker, Toronto, Ontario, Canada and two grandchildren.
