Tressie never married. Her obituary appeared in the LaGrange Daily News, 31 July 1968, p. 11:

Funeral Conducted for Miss Evans, 64.

Funeral services for Miss Tressie Lee Evans, 64, of 3008 Young’s Mill Road, were held today at 4 p.m. at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. D. J. Bodenhamer officiating. Burial was in Standing Rock, Ala., Cemetery.

Miss Evans died Wednesday in a Rome hospital. She had been ill for several months.

She had lived here most of her life and was a member of Unity Baptist Church.

Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Annie Evans, LaGrange; a brother, Alfred H. Evans, LaGrange, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Morris Rice, Leldon Bice, W. L. Payne, Lon Presnal, Billie Herrington and Emmett Traylor.

Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
