Dale L. Alexander was born August 28, 1886, in Keya Paha county, Nebraska. In her childhood, she moved, with her parents, to Missouri then to Tennessee. Later, she and her parents returned to Nebraska where they located near Deshler and there she grew to young womanhood.
She was united in marriage, on June 20, 1908, to Dr. Herbert Pew, who was then practicing at Hebron.
After her marriage, she lived in several different Nebraska towns, wherever Dr. Pew’s work led. One daughter, Virginia Ruth, was born.
They moved to Niobrara in 1940 and Mrs. Pew became an active member of the Presbyterian Ladies Aid, Rebekah lodge and other social groups.
She suffered a serious heart attack at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday and was taken to a Yankton hospital the following morning. She passed away there at 7:30 o’clock Sunday evening at the age of 60 years, 1 month, 22 days.
Surviving are her husband and daughter, one sister, Mae Alexander of Niobrara, one brother Roy Alexander of Deshler, one nephew and one niece of Deshler.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Presbyterian church in Niobrara with Rev. Kenneth Scott from O’Neill, in charge. Burial was made in L'Eau Qui Court cemetery.
