He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army. He worked with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad as a fork-lift operator for 30 years, retiring in 1981.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, two sisters, and one brother.
Survivors were: his wife, Ada, of Clinton, IA; three daughters: Shirley Troutman of Clinton, Barbara Huggins of Edridge and Ruth Adair of Clinton; a son, Gene Wilson of Clinton; six grandchildren; two great granddaughters; three brothers, Irvin "Butch" (Faye) Wilson of Larkspur, CA; Donald (Kay) Wilson of Winona, MN; and Rolland (Donna) Wilson of Dakota; two sisters, Bernice Quant of Oronio, MN; and Lorraine (Henry) Hesselgrave of Minneapolis, MN.
