Doyle Eugene Hunt, 84, Altus, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. A family reception will be held 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Kincannon’s Gathering Room. Cremation services are provided by Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Doyle Eugene Hunt was born December 23, 1927 to John N. and Annie L. (Kimbrough) Hunt in Humphreys, Oklahoma. The Hunt family moved to Altus in the early 1930s. Doyle attended Altus Public Schools. He enlisted in the Army Air Force and served during WWII, later serving in the United States Air Force and served during WWII, later serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. While stationed in Colorado, he met and married Charlotte Nancy Maynard, July 15, 1957, in Denver, Colorado. He enjoyed a long military career, retiring as MSgt in July of 1970 and was a two time Purple Heart recipient while defending our freedom. Mr. Hunt enjoyed television sports and had a lawnmower repair shop during his retirement years.

Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Elton, Sam, Bobby and Wayne; and one sister, Ethel Faye. He is survived by his wife Nancy of the home in Altus, OK; two sons, Doyle Hunt, Jr of New Orleans, LA; John D. Hunt of Altus, Oklahoma and many friends.
