Mary Elizabeth "Marybeth" (Black) Hogenson, the daughter of the late Porter and Helen (Williamson) Black, was born March 12, 1925 in West Liberty, Iowa. She attended business college in Iowa City, Iowa.

On August 25, 1948, Marybeth was united in marriage with George B. Hogenson. The couple moved to Eagle Grove, Iowa where George practiced medicine for 42 years before moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2001.

Marybeth was a speaker for Christian Women's Club, enjoyed reading, drawing and painting, and family times at the lake.

Marybeth went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at the age of 90 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert S. Black.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, George B. Hogenson, M.D.; three children: Mark Hogenson, M.D. (Mary) of Cedar Rapids, Jim Hogenson of Fort Wayne, IN and Nancy Mitchell (Tommy) of Fort Wayne, IN; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and her twin sister, Barbara Vargo.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor John Nett officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at church. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
