Joe grew up in Cedar Hill Texas. He graduated from Cedar Hill H.S. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy in 1951 and server for 2 years. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953 achieving the rank of Fireman and began work for Dallas Power and Light Company as a Distribution Lineman Apprentice where he worked for 42 years. He was promoted to Journeyman, Crew Supervisor, then to Field Construction Supervisor. He retired in 1992 after 42 years.
Joe married Gloria Ann Fowler in 1954 in Crandall Texas. They were happily married for 46 years. Joe was a member of First Baptist Church of Crandall, The R.C.Buckner Masonic Lodge.and The Scottish Rite Schriners of Dallas.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife Gloria, parents John Emmitt and Velma Holveck, siblings Norman, Andrea, Ray, Ethlene, Louise, and Evelyn.
Joe is survived by his son Dale Holveck and his wife Donna Holveck of Spring Branch Texas. and his daughter Terry Huddleston of Ennis, Texas; sisters Vada Jones of Waxahachie, Tx. and Rose Tiemann of Austin, Tx.; His grandchildren Corey Zmolik, Jennifer Clary, Tish Loria, and Brandon Bateman; his great-grandchildren Melody Loria and Ethan Bateman; his many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home and Memorial 1000 S. Hwy 175, Seagoville Texas at 10:00 a.m. on June 20, 2015. A visitation will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home on June 19 from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. The family will be greeting friends and relatives. Burial will follow at Crandall City Cemetery where the United States Navy will render honors for his faithful service to his Country.
