Born August 15, 1935 in Jefferson County, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Billmyer, Sr. and Lillian Mae Hilliard Billmyer.
He was a plumber and a member of Plumber’s Local #5. Washington, DC. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ranson, West Virginia, the Knights of Pythias, and an active member of Dillon’s Farm Museum. Robert was a graduate of Shepherdstown High School and a Veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by four sons, Stewart Lee Billmyer , William Scott Billmyer, Kent Lyle Billmyer , and Jason Lee Billmyer, a daughter, Virginia Mae Hoffman: one brother, Charles William Billmyer ; and one sister, Dorothy Mae Nicewarner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Carrie Lee Welsh Billmyer.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 6:00PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home. Services will be held 11:30 AM, Thursday, June 18, at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Withem officiating.
Military graveside services will be held at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
