Clifford Berry “Cliff” Parks, 81, of Yates Center, Kansas, passed away Sunday evening, June 14, 2015, at the Yates Center Health and Rehab. Center.

Cliff was born June 25, 1933, in Forrest Green, Missouri, the son of Harry and Jewell “Bonnie” (Bon) Parks.

The family lived in various locations as they followed Cliff’s father’s construction work.

Cliff graduated from high school in Brunswick, Missouri, and on June 11, 1953, he entered the United States Army. Following his discharge on May 5, 1955, he followed in his father’s footsteps working for List and Clark Construction Company which took him to Yates Center where he met Patty Lou “Pat” Cooper. They were married on June 23, 1957, in Yates Center.

Cliff and Pat and their daughters Brenda and Pam continued to live in various locations until moving back to Yates Center in June 1978. Cliff worked during the construction of the cooling lake at Wolf Creek Generating Station near Burlington. He then served as road and bridge supervisor for Woodson County and later served on the Woodson County Board of County Commissioners.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Yates Center.

Pat, his wife of more than 52 years, preceded him in death on August 25, 2009.

He was also preceded by his parents and a daughter, Pam Massey, on November 8, 1992.

He leaves his daughter, Brenda McMillan, Olathe, Kansas; three grandchildren, Stefanie Carpenter and husband Roger, Grovertown, Indiana, Kala Olivier and husband Trenton, Emporia, Kansas, and Brent McMillan, Gardner, Kansas; two great-grandchildren, Cole and Cade Olivier; his sister, Betty Admire and husband Larry, Slidell, Louisiana; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M. Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center. Burial will follow in Yates Center Cemetery.
