Richard Dean Swank, 52, Route 3, Marion, died at 9:18 Wednesday, September 30, 1981, at Marion Memorial Hospital. He was born June 22, 1929 in Indianola to Robert and Evie Fisher Swank. He was married to the former Lorean Jennings and she survives. Other survivors include the following children; Debbie Caraker, St. Louis; Carol Swank, Marion; Becky Swank, Herrin; Joseph Swank, Marion, 2 step-children; Lyn Horn of Fox Lake and Bill Olson of Gainesville FL, 3 brothers, Harold Swank, Springfield, Robert Swank, Peoria; and Bill Swank of Catlin and 2 sisters, Josephine Keim, Peoria and Pauline Caudill of Palm Beach WV. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Swank was the co-ordinator for the Southern Illinois Region of Mental Health Services. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Private graveside services will be at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Charles Jennings officiating. Funeral arrangements will be by Mitchell, Hughes and Lemasters.
