Military graveside services for William D. Bandt will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in Forest Park Cemetery with Dr. David Stubblefield officiating.

A resident of Greenville, he died Friday morning at Baylor Medical Center, Dallas. Born in Iron Mountain, Mich., on Jan. 22, 1921, he was the son of O.W. and Gertrude Dyer Bandt. He married Betty Treadway on May 8, 1943, in Columbus, Ga. Mr. Bandt was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, was a retired Army officer and computer scientist for E-Systems, was a former member of Golden K Kiwanis and member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife; one son, William David Bandt of Weston, Conn.; one daughter, Carol Bandt Elliott of Bishop; one brother, Charles Dyer Bandt of Norman, Okla.; one sister, Frances Dyer Bandt of Marquette; and five grandchildren. Preceding him in death was a brother, Robert Dyer Bandt.

Pallbearers will be Reagan Treadway, W.E. Treadway Jr., S.M. Cannon, George Springer, Joseph Brett, J.C. Green and Jim Bonney. Dr. Paul Kornu, D.L. Hopkins, James A. Brown and Dr. W.Carroll Adams will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Services are under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
