Died, in this city, on the 13th instant, Mrs. Ann Stewart, relict of the late Hugh Stewart, and daughter of the late John Orr, of Virginia, in the 87th year of her age.
For more than thirty years Mrs. S. was a resident of Washington, and her house the abode of hospitality and kindness. Estimable in all the relations of life, as a Christian she was humble, charitable, and consistent; as a mother tenderly affectionate and devoted; as a friend ardent, sincere, and steadfast, and as a mistress kind, humane, and indulgent. Those who knew her the most intimately loved her the most ardently Like a ripe sheaf of grain, ready for the sickle, she was cut down and gathered into "The garner of eternal life." Long will the salutary influence of her pure and guileless life be felt in the circle where she moved. Long will her memory be affectionately cherished by her many sorrowing relatives and friends, by whom she was so fondly loved for her many virtues.
