CALDWELL — Clarence B. Ashby, 68, died Wednesday at this home at 1321 Albany street.
Born May 3, 1889, in Cassville, Mo., he moved to Enid, Okla., when a boy, coming to Idaho in 1911. His family settled in the Roswell community where he was employed by the late Gov. Ben Ross for several years. He returned to Missouri in 1914 and was married Feb. 14 of that year to Elsie Gilmore in Cassville. They then homesteaded in the Melba area in 1914 and moved to the Black Canyon project in 1947, developing a small farm there before moving to Caldwell in 1950.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of Caldwell, include one sister, Mrs. Bertha McGuire, Tulia, Texas; one brother, William E. Ashby, Wackmois, Okla.; two step-sons; one step-daughter, Mrs. Flo Yrguen, Vale, Ore., and two grandchildren. The Peckham-Dakan-Davis chapel is in charge of arrangements.
