Private Brumbaugh dies of his wounds on August 1, 1918. He was interred in the American Cemetery at Chateau Montanglaust, Mouroux, Seine-et-Marne, American Graveyards, Section C. His body was sent home from Antwerp on May 5, 1921, and arrived in Hoboken, NJ, on June 6, 1921. He traveled to Three Springs to his final resting place in the Fairview Cemetery.
