Ronald E. Davidson, age 76 of North Tazewell, VA died Thursday, June 11, 2015 at his home. Born July 27, 1938 in Tazewell County, VA, he was a son of the late George and Myrtle Asbury Davidson. He retired from coal mining after 27 years and was a member of the UMWA Local # 2322 at Amonate, VA. He also worked for and retired from the Tazewell County School System. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Davidson; one son, Jimmy Davidson and wife, Teresa of Bluefield, WV; two sisters, Della Smith and husband, Carl of Glade Spring, VA and Betty Bailey and husband, Vernie of Greensboro, NC; one brother, Willis Davidson of Greensboro, NC; two grandchildren who were the love of his life, Karrah Davidson and Conner Davidson; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Monday, June 15, 2015 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with the Reverend Lu Crandall, the Reverend Jason Crandall and the Reverend Dr. Thomas A. Conley officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers are Tom Angles, Marvin Davidson, Johnny Quesenberry, Donnie Yates, Larry Peery, and Derrick Ruble.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 PM Sunday, June 14, 2015.
