Mary Bashua Scott was the daughter of Thomas Garner Scott, Sr. and Joannah (Cauthron) Scott and granddaughter of Milas Thompson Scott, Sr. and Celia Ann (Garner) Scott and Col. Walter Cauthron and Bashaway or Bashua (Wilson) Cauthron.

Mary Bashua Scott was born in Sugar Grove, then Scott County now Logan County, Arkansas.

Mary Bashua Scott married Dr. William Franklin Ross on 29 MAR 1894 in Sugar Grove, Logan County, Arkansas.

They were the parents of 3 children:

1) Herman Leon Ross
2) Mary "Lucille" Ross, wife of Raymond J. Bentley.
3) George Jones Ross, Sr., husband of Grace Marie Wertz.
