Death came to Edward St. Clair 68-year-old retired truck farmer, early this morning, in the home of Mrs. Maude Martin, 107 1/2 West Fifth Street, where he was taken by the Welfare department, Saturday, from the home of a nephew, Homer St. Clair, when he became critically ill. He had been ill for two months and critical since Saturday. Heart trouble was given as the cause of death.

Mr. St. Clair was a native of Monroe county, born July 16, 1884 [sic], the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mose St. Clair. Until 8 years ago, when the wife , Mrs. Icy St. Clair, died, the couple had lived in Clear Creek. Six years ago Mr. St. Clair moved to Bloomington and had been living with his nephew in the Allen Apartments.

Besides the nephew, survivors include a half-sister, Mrs. Maude Rush, Bloomington; three nieces, Mary St. Clair, Nellie St. Clair, and Josephine St. Clair, all living in California and two other nephews, Harry St. Clair, Indianapolis and Charles St Clair, Bloomington.

Last rites will be held at 2 o'clock, Wednesday afternoon at the Weir Funeral Home. The Rev. George Wyatt will officiate and burial will be in the Clear Creek cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Charles Ramsey, Carl Meadows, Clyde Jenkins, Ralph Sharp, Oscar Hendrix and Donald Vaughn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Hinkle, Frank Lampkins, Quince Cox, Freed Hudson, Walter Roll and Raymond Stevens.

The body will remain at the Weir Funeral Home.
