Peter and Mary separated aft 1910 but Prior to 1920. He was boarding on 40 Ferris Street from 1920 till his death in 1937. He died in St Albans, Vermont on Aug 31, 1937, his cause was cancer of the stomach, and he was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery on Sept 2, 1937.
Mary died on July 14, 1953 Mary Fletcher Hospital in Burlington Vt and was buried next to Peter in Holy Cross Cemetery in St Albans Vermont on July 16, 1953.

The death of Peter LaFountain occurred at a local institution this morning at 1 o'clock following a lingering illness. Mr LaFountain was born in Dannemora NY, Feb 17, 1867 and came to St. Albans to reside for about 40 years.
For several years he was janitor at Weldon National Bank.
He leaves three daughters Mrs Clifford Beals of this city, Mrs George Caswell of Moores Forks, NY, Mrs Frances L'Ecuyer of Albany NY and one son Edward of Burlington.
The funeral will be held from St. Mary's Church, Thursday morning at nine o'clock when a requiem high mass will be sung. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
The body was taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs Beals, 13 Lower Weldon to remain until the funeral.
