Burial of the cremated remains was at the Brethren Cemetery at Dallas Center.
Born in Dunnell, Minn. on Sept. 4, 1914, he was the son of Wendell and Sophia Findley. His family moved to a farm near Grimes area when he was a child. He was baptized into the Presbyterian Church as a child, and was graduated from Grimes High School in 1932.
He was married to Hazel Mash of Dallas Center on Sept. 4, 1939. They farmed near Winterset for 32 years and after retiring bought a winter home in DeQueen.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel; a son, Ivan of DeQueen; three daughters, Julia Willis of San Antonio, Texas, Katherine Laboy of Phoenix Ariz. and Donna McCallon of Seattle, Wash.; a brother, Wayne Findley of Dexter; two sisters, Arlene Douglas of Whiting and Esther Alexander of Punxsutawney, Pa.; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
