Mrs. Frances L. Marlow, age 72, of Veal, Georgia passed away on Thursday evening, June 11, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of the late Fred Self, Sr. and the late Louise Chiles Masters. She was a graduate of Woodlawn High School in Birmingham. In her working career, she retired as a Vice President and Bookkeeper with The Peoples Bank, and later worked with her husband on their poultry farm, until her health failed. She was an avid gardener and loved working in her flower garden, as well as, cross stitching. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth L. Marlow of Veal; sons and daughter-in-law: Sam Lewis of Carrollton and Greg & Heather Lewis of Whitesburg; special friend, Jan L. Robinson of Carrollton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Duane & Sandra Marlow of Veal; sisters: Christie Jordan of Tennessee, Pamela Reynolds of South Carolina, and Charlotte Thompson of Huntsville, Alabama; brother, Fred Self, Jr. of Atlanta; niece and nephew: Heather Marlow and Brandon & Allison Marlow; as well as a number of other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at 3:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Wesley Boatman officiating. Those serving as pallbearers will be Harold Johnson, Jack McClendon, Brandon Marlow, Luke Stallings, Darry Payton, and Lamar Robinson. Interment will follow in the Veal Community Cemetery.
